Time flies.
I’ve been blogging for 10 years. Not every day, but a few times a year. Consistently enough that it became something.
Little did I know that writing would become one of my best assets. When I switched to remote work, text became the primary communication tool. Every decision, every idea, every argument was written down. I was ready for that world because I had been practicing without knowing it.
I tried other mediums along the way. Video, audio, you name it. I always came back to writing because text always wins.
Life gets in the way, of course. It always does. But I’ve learned that writing isn’t something you find time for; it’s something you make time for. Even a few paragraphs a year add up to a decade of thinking out loud.
And then there’s the AI angle. Weirdly enough, I blogged about AI on March 3, 2016 — almost exactly 10 years ago. When the AI revolution hit, I wasn’t starting from zero. I had years of notes, ideas, and writing. I handed it all to the AI, and it instantly had context about me, how I think, and how I approach life, work, and everything in between. That’s the compounding interest of writing.
