I was writing a long article the past week. After finishing it, I gave it a read. This is just a normal step before publishing to correct typos, etc. But this time I stopped and asked myself: “What’s the reason behind this article?”
I found all what I was doing in that article is criticizing others. Maybe not in the whole post, but the majority of it. I didn’t like it as this is wasn’t the purpose when I first started it. But somehow, the course changed halfway.
So, I deleted it.
Today I found this video of Barack Obama on Twitter:
If all you’re doing is casting stones, you probably not gonna get that far. That’s easy to do.
Barack Obama
Criticizing others was never, and will never be a solution to our problems. Even if we see this over and over again, amplified by social media.
We didn’t get further by criticizing the billionaires who donated to Notre Dame in Paris and didn’t donate for climate change. We are going a little bit further now that a movement started to plant 20 million trees by January 1st 2020.
It started by some YouTubers, and now Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey joined among others. At the time of writing this, more than 8 million trees are going to be planted.
So if you can help, please head to https://teamtrees.org/ and donate to make a change. Casting stones at others will not help, your actions may.
